Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a treatment method that uses guided imagery to assist the individual in obtaining a deep level of relaxation. While in this state of deep relaxation, the client is able to utilize their subconscious mind to create changes in thoughts and behavior. Hypnosis allows the conscious mind to quite down while the subconscious mind can do its work of creating deep level changes for the client's benefit. The hypnotic state is similar to daydreaming; it’s something we do every day naturally. All it requires is being open to using your imagination and being willing to allow the process to help you relax and focus.
While in hypnosis, a client is always in control and the conscious mind remains aware and present, just not as active. You will never do anything that compromises your values while in hypnosis because you are still in control. Although people may differ in the degree to which they respond to hypnosis or how deep they go into a hypnotic state, most everyone can be hypnotized. Even children can benefit from hypnosis and it can be done in groups as well. There are no negative side effects to hypnosis. It is always safe and beneficial as our subconscious mind will not bring up anything that we cannot handle. Hypnosis allows for a deeper connection to ourselves and our true nature.
