About Jennifer Curran MC, LPC, CHt
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona, a Certified Hypnotherapist, and a Spiritual Teacher. I started out getting a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Counseling which provided the foundation for my practice using traditional psychotherapeutic techniques. I then began to specialize in trauma, understanding that trauma is a major root of issues for most people. Through many additional trainings throughout the years, I began to incorporate more somatic and attachment-focused perspectives and techniques into my trauma-informed practice, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Inner Family Systems (IFS). Concurrently I engaged in intensive self study into nutrition and holistic medicine as I sought to understand more about the physical body and how nutrition and environmental factors play a role in mental health. My path then led me into a transpersonal hypnotherapy program as I desired to know how to help clients make lasting changes at a deep subconscious level. This education and training launched me into a deep exploration of metaphysics and spirituality which had a profound impact on the way I view mental health issues. I began to understand more about the energy body and the effects of other sources of negative energy on one’s mental health. Through the use of lesser-known hypnotherapeutic techniques such as past life regression and spirit releasement, the importance of combining energy modalities with traditional methods of counseling became very apparent to me. The Existential and Transpersonal therapeutic orientation turned from a mainly philosophical enterprise into a practical one as I explored the use of different modalities of Light and Energy Work and how impressive this form of healing can be. Currently I incorporate all of these approaches into my practice to provide truly holistic therapy for each client.
