I provide a warm and nurturing environment where clients are encouraged to explore their inner world and gently guided to make the changes that will bring more peace and happiness to their lives. I have a unique skill set and perspective that will help you get to the root of your issues so you can be fully healed. I utilize what I call the two-pronged approach to therapy: we need to get the bad stuff out and the good stuff in. From this simple concept of change, I focus on four main aspects of healing to assist my clients in reaching their goals.
Getting the bad stuff out - Root Cause
For real and lasting change to occur, we need to get to the root of the problem. Unresolved trauma is often one of the main roots of the issues that bring people in for therapy. Along with classic Psychotherapy, one of the main treatment modalities I utilize to resolve trauma is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This is an evidence-based modality that is excellent for processing traumatic memories, assisting clients in releasing trapped sensations and emotions attached to the trauma so they can be resolved, resulting in a decrease of symptoms.
Getting the bad stuff out - Process Current Stressors and Triggers
Life is busy and can be stressful, and I understand there is so much going on in a client’s current life that they need to talk about. Current stressors need to be processed just like past traumatic situations do, and I teach clients a variety of techniques to do just that. One of the most basic techniques is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which teaches the mind to engage in rational thinking, freeing one from the burden of negative thoughts.
CBT in combination with Mindfulness helps clients stay present and keep from spiraling into negative thought patterns that can make any situation feel worse. Other techniques useful for processing sensations and emotions are Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), in which the client taps lightly on certain areas of their body to release emotional energy thereby creating more internal balance, and Traumatic Releasing Exercises (TRE), in which the client learns how to induce autogenic tremors in their legs to release emotional energy.
As clients become more aware of their unresolved trauma and how it effects them, they can also use these techniques to process any triggers that arise in their current life. By doing this, clients can regulate their internal state better and are actively engaged in resolving their trauma from the past.
Getting the good stuff in - Resourcing
As negative energy in the form of thoughts, feelings, and body sensations are being moved out of a client’s system, it’s important to replace that “space” with good things. Resourcing is where we bring in positive healing aspects so clients can begin to feel more happy and peaceful. I utilize Hypnosis, which is a deep state of relaxation, to resource my clients with positive thoughts, emotions, and images. During hypnosis, positive feedback is more easily able to enter deep into the subconscious mind, taking root to help create positive changes in thoughts and behavior.
I also teach clients to practice Inner Child Work, whereby they learn how to be the ideal parent and best friend they needed during childhood to help them get through the tough times with less traumatic baggage. Inner Chid Work, also known as Inner Family Systems (IFS), is a powerful modality that allows clients to fulfill childhood needs from a deep inner place of Love and Compassion.
Getting the good stuff in - Lighwork Therapy
Fear is the root of all problems, and Love is the source of all healing. For those open to spiritual healing, having a spiritual perspective on the world and one’s past experiences can be extremely effective.
With these pillars of spirituality and Lightwork Therapy, one can access powerful healing potential. As a spiritual teacher, I help spiritually oriented clients make sense of things from a greater perspective. Understanding this perspective connects a client to a deep inner source of Love, which, when activated and cultivated, becomes a powerful resource.
With the addition of groundbreaking Lightwork Therapy, which helps to move fear and negative energy out of a client’s system, the potential for healing increases exponentially.
